Family Community Tree is a project about people and trees, about people planting trees for the future and about trees safeguarding people’s future. This site and associated artefacts will also look back. Like a family tree they will identify for future generations where and why family members planted trees. It links to actual places that future generations will be able to visit. A living and changing commemoration of past generations. Looking back from the future.
Family Community Tree is also about planting trees strategically and backed up by the best knowledge and support available. To this end, this site is also a hub of the Local Tree Moot, a forum of people and organisations involved with tree planting initiated by Stroud Valleys Project, Nailsworth Town Council and Walking the Land. Read more on the Tree Moot page.
Family Community Tree hosts some of the work of Walking the Land associated artists and as well as examples of their work which can be found on the artists’ projects pages, notice of art-walks and exhibitions can be found on the upcoming events page.
