December Sunrise, Minchinhampton Common. Richard Keating

Welcome to the Stroud Valleys and surrounding area Family Community Tree. This site is for people interested in tree planting now and longer-term it will be for people interested in tracing where and why earlier generations were involved in local tree planting.

Over the years it will illustrate how people came together to plant trees for the future and how trees have safeguarded that future. It will show when and where trees were planted, how the various projects linked together, who was involved and what they had to say about tree planting in their local places.

this is how it works.

People involved in tree planting initiatives will be invited to complete a “Planting Certificate” and contribute to this website as ways of commemorating the planting. The Certificate will be personalised and include links to where the trees were planted, who was involved and what they had to say about why they were taking action. In this way future generations will be able to visit the places where their ancestors planted trees, a living, changing commemoration. The Planting for the future page is where these testimonials can be found.
